The Eye Opener Award was created to honor sites that feature deboxed dolls. With all the emphasis placed on NRFB, those who place their value on the doll within the box deserve special recognition for bucking the herd mentality and daring to enjoy their dolls. If you have a site that's an Eye Opener, we'd love to include you on this page! Click here for all the details. Barbie's Dream Home (Page)
Heather Billings has created a dreamy site for Barbie fans, featuring lots of fun photos of deboxed dolls vacationing, working, or just having fun!To me, the fun of Barbie is in deboxing. Sometimes a doll is begging to be redressed in this or that ("I simply MUST see myself in that Fashion Avenue,") , or wants to be posed with other dolls ("Can't you put me over there with Ken?"). I enjoy making scenes with Barbie and her friends, making them seem like regular people in it-could-happen situations. -Heather Billings

Prices on the dolls are best with closeouts and discounted dolls- who cares about the box? -Lynn Johnson

Queen Amidala's Closet
Gorgeous pictures of that fantasy fashion plate from Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace, in mass manufactured and custom outfits, plus hints for recreating the unreleased outfits.I think that the pivotal "deboxing" story for me would be when I bought the Queen Amidala Hidden Identity doll. This was the first time I had bought a doll as an adult. I actually considered if I was going to take it out of the box since I knew it would "lose value" if I did. But once it was out of the box, I really enjoyed holding it in my hands. It became something cool, interesting, something I could envision as more than just a doll in a box. Then when I made the white celebration outfit and dressed her in it, I had a real feeling of pride that I had something really special. -Janet Miller
